Eco Church
This year our church Harvest collection will be going to ‘The Ripple Effect’, formerly ‘Send a Cow’. This charity works alongside families in rural Africa so they can grow more food, earn a living and break the cycle of poverty. To date, over 1 million people have been supported with life changing training in sustainable agriculture, working with nature to restore degraded land, protecting natural resources and strengthening resilience to climate change. Families are able to grow reliable and diverse harvests, improving nutrition, keeping healthy livestock and protecting their land for future generations. Women, young people and people living with disabilities are helped to gain confidence, voice and economic power, strengthening families and creating more equal communities. Farmers are able to turn agricultural skills into reliable livelihoods, supported by savings groups, enterprise training and access to markets and financial support. This is such a worthwhile charity, please give generously. We will also be supporting local families living in poverty by giving our produce collection to the Mid-Norfolk Foodbank. Please bring non-perishable produce and toiletries. Thank you.

Saturday 5th September: Churchyard lichen survey 10.30 am.
Sunday 6th September: Picnic Café Church outside on the All Saints site at 10.30 am. In St Michael’s if wet.
Sunday 13th September: ‘Harvest’ Holy Communion 10.30 in St Mary’s. Please bring gifts of ‘store cupboard’ items that will be taken to the Mid-Norfolk Foodbank. The money collection will go to ‘The Ripple Effect’.
Sunday20th September: Café Church in St Michael’s from 10 am with coffee and croissants etc. The informal service starts at 10.30 am
Sunday 27th September: Holy Communion 10.30 am in St Mary’s
Saturday 3rd October: Fair Trade Coffee Morning, cake stall and raffle. 10 – 12 in St Michael’s, to raise money for the Fair Trade Foundation, allowing small farmers to get a fair price for their harvests.
INEQE Questionnaire: We are all being asked to fill in an online questionnaire as part of the Independent Safeguarding Audit of Norwich Diocese. The questionnaire will be accessed by a QR code, for those who use them, or by a weblink for those who do not. The Diocesan team preparing for the audit are hoping that 30 to 40 people from each parish will participate, which we think will include those who use our church buildings for meetings. The questionnaire will be live from mid-September until the end of October. We will send out the links once we have them. Please participate as this is to see where things are going well and where there needs to be improvement. If you know anyone who would like to be involved but doesn’t have internet access, please contact your Parish Safeguarding Officer.
