A Letter from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York

As you may have heard, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are calling for Church of England churches to put public worship on hold to help stem the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

Within our benefice we are looking at ways to continue sharing our faith. We will be putting together prayer packs for adults and families so that we can pray and nurture our faith at home. Rev’d Keith and Rev’d Helen will also be uploading a range of videos from Holy Communion on Sundays to Messy Church children’s videos so we can come together virtually.

We will also be providing pastoral support by phone, so if you need to speak to someone or need help please call us. As more of us become isolated it is important that we keep in contact with each other, whether that is online, by email, by phone or letter. It may not always been an emergency or the need of something material – sometimes just a friendly chat is all that’s needed.

This Sunday, Mothering Sunday, we will not have our usual services. However, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have asked that we light a candle and put it in our windows at 7pm as a symbol of our Christian unity.
