Reepham & Wensum Valley Team Churches - at the Heart of the Community

Eco Church, June 2026

Eco Church

A Rocha UK is the Christian environmental charity that administers the Eco Church awards. They also run a T25 programme aimed at places and species that are struggling with the effects of climate change, habitat loss and pollution. Partners who sign up to T25, use iRecord to monitor a number of species and track improvements in populations where restorative work has been done. Habitats monitored include natural grassland, such as churchyards, as well as hedgerow, freshwater, woodland and coastal habitats and specific species include Swifts, Hedgehog, House Martins and Harvest Mice as well as butterflies, moths and dragonflies. Recording the wildlife around us is a wonderfully satisfying and useful way of enjoying the natural world, as, once you start to look closely, it is amazing what you can see. It is easy to get lost in the detail, reducing stress and anxiety. Taking photos on your phone, means that if you don’t know what you are looking at, others should be able to identify the subjects for you.
