Words of Light & Hope from Sue Page LLM
The God who is Trinity in Relationship With Me (A Truth for all Christians)
When pondering about God in three persons….Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I have come to realise that when each day I settle down to ‘spend time’ with God, just quietly on my own, without any planning I experience my relationship with Him in all His Three Persons.
When I come to Him and share moments, relationships, a meeting, or an event which has somehow gone wrong He Listens, Loves, and Responds like a warm loving Father I feel His touch, and smile, and hug as if He is saying ’My Child… my Child….my Child whom I adore…I love you and Forgive you!”
When I am challenged or have to say or do something for which I am anxious because it is important not only to me but also to other people ….and the conversation or meeting or words that I have to say go well;……..then later when I am alone with God I realise that His Holy Spirit …… He himself was with me and leading me.
When there is a challenge or a major disappointment or Tragedy in my life , when I am reflecting with God later about it…then I realise that He was the One somehow taking the larger hurt…Jesus was he One suffering more than me….God’s Son Alive in the world and taking my hurts upon Himself….it as ..is Jesus, God’s beloved Son who was/is weeping with me! “He who can make distinction in God without number or quantity knows that the three persons of the Trinity are one God.” Meister Eckhart
In the Beginning, not in time or space,
But in the quick before both space and time,
In Life, in Love, in co-inherent Grace,
In three in one and one in three, in rhyme,
In music, in the whole creation story,
In His own image, His imagination,
The Triune Poet makes us for His glory,
And makes us each the other’s inspiration.
He calls us out of darkness, chaos, chance,
To improvise a music of our own,
To sing the chord that calls us to the dance,
Three notes resounding from a single tone,
To sing the End in whom we all begin;
Our God beyond, beside us and within.
The divine essence is not divided among the three persons, but is wholly with all its perfection in each one of the persons so that they have a numerical unity of essence.
