Words of Light and Hope from Sue Page LLM

Words of Light and Hope  from Sue Page, LLM

All life becomes prayer

Only in as much as we learn

To set aside special moments

And special places for regular prayer.

The one creates

And shapes the other

Mysterious God

Whose silence speaks

louder than words

and whose darkness

guides us more surely

than our light,

May we trust you in cloud

And in sunlight,

In the interplay of word

And Silence,

Until we know as we are

Fully known. Amen

The guarantee of one’s prayer is not in saying a lot of words. The guarantee of one’s petition is very easy to know: How do I treat the poor   the needy.  the difficult? The degree to which you approach them, and the love with which you approach them, or the scorn with which you approach them – that is how you approach your God. What you do to them, you do to God. The way you look at them is the way you look at God. Oscar Romero

“For me…to pray is to wait….!!

Carly Carretto

There is a different kind of prayer without ceasing; it is longing. Whatever you may be doing, if you long for the day of everlasting rest do not cease praying. If you do not wish to cease praying, then do not cease your longing. Your persistent longing is your persistent voice. But when love grows cold, the heart grows silent. Burning love is the outcry of the heart! If you are filled with longing all the time, you will keep crying out, and if your love perseveres, your cry will be heard without fail.                                                            Saint Augustine

Loving Father

By Your Grace

We long to see more people knowing Jesus,

And more justice in your world.

Help us to love as your disciples,

 in the power of the Spirit

And to work to your praise and glory

Amen

Paul Bayes  Recently retired Bishop of Liverpool

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek

To be consoled as to console;

To be understood as to understand;

To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

 St. Francis of Assisi
